2/3/12 Police Blotter

Feb 1, 2012 - Victim reported the theft of several items of clothing, his cell phone, and wallet which contained $90 in cash from an unlocked vehicle parked at a construction site on Weyl Lane. The items were removed sometime between 8am and 1pm. The total value of the stolen items was $370.


On Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at approximately 9:45 PM, Cpl. Matt Solovay conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1997 white Lexus 300 after it was observed obsructing the lane of travel on State Rd . The driver of the vehicle, Janine Bonanni, was found to have a suspended driver's license and an active ATS warrant out of Mt. Ephraim Municipal Court in the amount of $ 532.00. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where she was processed. Ms. Bonanni was later released on her own recognizance. She was issued a summons for Driving While Suspended.


On Monday, January 30, 2012, at 11:49 PM, Cpl. Matt Solovay conducted a motor vehicle stop on Princeton-Kingston Rd., on a vehicle after observing a motor vehicle violation. During the stop it was determined that the driver, Shripad Kulkarni, was operating his vehicle after consuming alcoholic beverages and upon conclusion of a brief investigation, Kulkarni was placed under arrest for DWI. He was transported to Princeton Twp. Police Headquarters where he was processed and later released to a family member. Kulkarni was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Failure to Keep Right, Failure to Maintain Lane and Driving While Intoxicated while in a School Zone.


Jan 25, 2012 - NJ State Police contacted the Princeton Township Police Department regarding having Isiah Advent in custody on a criminal warrant out of Princeton Township in the amount of $2500.00. Advent was transported to police headquarters by the NJSP and was processed on the warrant. Advent was unable to post bail and was subsequently transported/committed to Mercer County Correctional Facility.


On Wednesday, January 25 2012 at approximately 5:15 pm, Princeton Township Police patrols responded to the intersection of Terhune Rd. and Jefferson Rd. to investigate a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. The at-scene investigation revealed that vehicle # 1, driven by Raghu, was traveling east on Terhune Rd. and failed to yield to vehicle #2, driven by Randall, while entering the intersection at Jefferson Rd. Driver # 1 was transported to Princeton Medical Center after complaining of neck pain. Driver # 2 complained of pain in her head and neck, but later refused any medical treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.


Jan 24, 2012, Ernst Delma appeared in Princeton Township Municipal Court , and was placed under arrest for two outstanding warrants issued from Princeton Boro Municipal Court totaling $5,000. Mr. Delma was processed and turned over to the Princeton Boro Police Department who took him to the Mercer County Detention Center after he was unable to post bail.


On Monday, January 23 2012 at approximately 8:20 pm patrols responded to the 200 block of Mt. Lucas Road on report of a large tree which fell onto a house. Upon arrival it was discovered that a large tree had uprooted due to the wet ground/weather conditions and fell directly onto a house in that area. Nobody was injured as a result of the accident, however the home received extensive damage rendering un-inhabitable. Utilities were shut down as a precautionary measure and the home was secured while Township Construction Officials worked with the homeowner towards short and long-term solutions.
