5/10/2011 Police Blotter

Arrested:  Cheryl Johnson:  32 Clay St. Princeton, NJ Female/48 yoa 

On May 6, 2011 the Princeton Borough Police Department executed a search warrant at 32 Clay St. which was the culmination of a three month investigation into the sale of ‘crack’ cocaine from the home by the resident, Cheryl Johnson. 

The search of the residence revealed a quantity of ‘crack’ cocaine packaged for distribution, drug paraphernalia as well as a quantity of cash; proceeds from the sales.

Johnson was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  1. Possession of Cocaine
  2. Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
  3. Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of School Property
  4. Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute in a Public Housing Facility
  5. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Bail was set at $52,500.  Johnson was released after posting bail on may 7, 2011.


5/2/2011 - Patrols were dispatched to the area of Mt. Lucas Rd. to investigate a report of an erratic driver. Patrols located and stopped the vehicle and during the course of the motor vehicle stop it was discovered that the driver, Cory Frey, was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance as well as drug paraphernalia. Mr. Frey was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed for the arrest. He was later released from custody after being issued his summonses.


5/7/2011 - At approximately 3:49pm, Princeton Township Police responded to the area of Riverside Drive West and Balsam Lane for a suspicious suitcase. Upon patrols arrived they observed a black in color carry-on suitcase near the roadway. Due to the suspicious nature of the abandoned suitcase, the New Jersey State Police Arson/Bomb unit were advised and responded to the area along with the Princeton Fire Department and Princeton First Aid Squad. PrincetonTownship Police secured the area by blocking various streets and detouring the traffic. At approximately 5:30pm, NJSP declared the area safe. Patrols located bubble wrap and styrofoam material inside the suitcase. The area was secured for approximately one and half hours.
