“The Carrier,” a documentary film that tells the story of a young pregnant Zambian woman, who discovers that she is HIV positive then sets out to keep her baby and community virus free, will be screened at the Woodrow Wilson School on Monday, February 13, 2012, at 4:30 p.m.
Maggie Betts ’99, producer and director of the film and longtime advocate for the rights of HIV positive women and children in sub-Saharan Africa, will participate in a discussion following the screening. Betts will be joined in the discussion by Bill and Susan Belifore, family ambassadors of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Julian Zelizer, professor of history and public affairs at the Wilson School will moderate the discussion.
The event is co-sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, the Center for Health and Wellbeing, and the Princeton University Committee on Public Lectures. A public reception with Betts will follow the event in Shultz Dining Room.
