The Princeton-based Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA) will hold its annual Holiday Peace Gathering on Monday, December 12 in Princeton. It begins with a Candlelight Peace Vigil with the theme Swords into Ploughshares from 5:00-6:00 PM on Palmer Square in Princeton. Candles and posters will be supplied.
A Potluck for Peace will follow the Vigil from 6:00-7:00 PM in the Assembly Room of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street in Princeton (directly across the street from Palmer Square). Those bringing dishes may drop them off at the church starting at 4:30. However, attendees are asked not to park at the church afterwards, so it is available for the church’s programs.
Following the Potluck, from 7:00-8:30 PM, there will be a Program for Peace also in the Assembly Room of the Church. Two sets of music are planned. The first will be by members of the Princeton High School Studio Band (jazz), who will have just returned from performing at the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. They will perform several of the pieces they presented there, and several of the students will also offer reflections.
All three events—the Vigil, Potluck, and Concert—are free and open to the public. Those interested are encouraged to come to any one or combination of the three events.
