More than 100 Princeton teachers gathered in front of the Princeton Regional School offices at Valley Road this afternoon to press their demands for a contract. Negotiations are currently underway at the Valley Road offices. Princeton teachers have been working without a contract since June 30.
Marie Blistan, Secretary-Treasurer of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) was among the speakers who addressed the rally.
Joanne Ryan, president of the Princeton Regional Education Association, said she is hoping for "a fair and equitable contract". Neither side is free to discuss the terms of the ongoing negotiations, but immediately after the rally, both sides went into the talks saying they were hopeful for a settlement tonight.
The Board of Education meets tomorrow evening at John Witherspoon Middle School. The public portion of the meeting begins at 8pm.
