Ready, Set, Snow!

Perhaps we are fated not to see the ground until the spring thaw.  Or so it seemed this morning, when we woke to a snowfall that came earlier than predicted.  This radar snapshot at 2:30pm shows one storm leaving and another one coming.

Princeton declared a snow emergency at 10am this morning.  More coming this evening.  Keep track of the forecast on the National Weather Service site.

Due to the winter weather, NJ TRANSIT is cross-honoring tickets, system-wide all day Wednesday 1/26 and Thursday 1/27.

SNOW CLOSINGS, so far:
- Princeton Township: The following meetings scheduled for tonight have been cancelled:  Consolidation Commission meeting , Environmental Commission meeting, Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting
- Princeton University: Due to the continued snowfall, all non-essential staff will be dismissed at 3 p.m.  The Art Museum is closing at 3pm.
- No after-school activities today for Princeton Regional Schools. Princeton High School will close at 1:30pm today. No late busses. PK-8 will have a full day of school.
- Princeton YMCA: Wed, Jan 26 - CDC will close at 3pm. Princeton & Lawrence afterschool programs will run until 4pm
- YMCA Princeton closing at 6pm today.  Strong Kids Kickoff event, originally scheduled for this evening, has been postponed.
- The YWCA Princeton will be closed as of 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 due to the inclement weather. All programs and classes after 1:00pm have been cancelled. After School Programs at Montgomery and Princeton sites will remain open until 4:00pm.
- The Consolidation Open Forum has been postponed.  New date TBA.
- The Princeton Library will close at 5pm.  Springboard is cancelled today
- Arts Council classes are cancelled today
- Einstein and Szilard in Princeton, cancelled by the Historical Society.
