Twp Police blotter to 9-28-10 - Riverside burglary suspects arrested

Burglary & Theft:

Two men were arrested last week and charged with burglary and theft in connection with two break-ins in the Riverside area of Princeton and in South Brunswick earlier this month.  The police report jewelry and electronic equipment were taken from the Riverside homes.  The stolen goods have not been recovered.  Details of the police report, and the rest of last week's police blotter, below:

Riverside Drive Area
On 09/07/2010 between 10:30am - 12:00 pm a residence on Mason Drive was burglarized. On
09/09/2010 between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm a residence on Riverside Drive was also burglarized. The suspects
entered both unoccupied homes forcibly through a widow and removed jewelry and electronic equipment. South
Brunswick Township was also experiencing a rash of daytime burglaries. During a joint investigation with South
Brunswick Police Department two suspects were identified. PTPD Det. Ben Gering and SBPD Det. Ron Seaman
arrested Milton Guarderas, Shadow Oaks Court, Monmouth Jct, NJ on 09/23/2010 and Stephen Rodriguez, 21
years old, Pine Street, New Brunswick, NJ on 09/27/2010 and charged them Burglary and Theft in connection with
the Riverside Drive area burglaries and several burglaries in South Brunswick Township. At this time, proceeds of
the burglaries have not been recovered.

Warrant/Drug Arrest

While on patrol, Cpl.JoAnne Malta was stopped by Olivia Bayles who was walking on Route 206. She informed the Officer that she was stranded and needed a ride back to New Egypt, NJ. A records check revealed two active warrants, one from Freehold Twp. for $1000.00 and a second from Pennington, NJ for $428.00. Olivia Bayles was placed under arrest by Cpl. Malta and transported to police headquarters. During processing, CDS and an alcoholic beverage were found on her person. She was processed, charged and later released pending court. Olivia Bayles was unable to post bail for the warrants and was turned over to Freehold Township Police.Motor Vehicle Stop (Drug Arrest)

While on patrol, Officer Michael Strobel conducted a motor vehicle stop on the above motor vehicle for an expired registration. While talking to the driver, a small plastic baggie with suspected marijuana was observed on the driver's lap. The driver, Philip Guirand, was placed under arrest by Officer Strobel and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with possession of CDS. He was later released to a friend
pending court.

On 09/23/2010 at approximately 12:12 PM, Ptlm. Matt Solovay conducted a motor vehicle stop on a
vehicle displaying an expired inspection sticker. While speaking with the driver, William K. Abrego Jr., it was
determined that he had outstanding traffic warrants for his arrest out of Maurice River Municipal Court and Lower
Township Municipal Court, totaling $156.00. He was arrested by Ptlm. Solovay and transported to police
headquarters where he was processed. He was issued a motor vehicle summons for operating a vehicle with
expired inspection. William Abego posted bail and was later released .

While conducting a motor vehicle stop on the above vehicle, Officer Steve Lattin discovered the driver, John Wells had an active $190.00 warrant out of Princeton Township Municipal Court. Officer Lattin placed the driver under arrest and transported him to police headquarters where he was processed. He was later released pending court after posting $190.00 bail.

Ptlm. Anthony Paccillo conducted a motor vehicle stop on the above vehicle which was traveling on Alexander Street with a flat donut type spare tire and expired registration. During the stop, Ptlm. Paccillo discovered the driver,Tiera Mason had a suspended driver's license and an active warrant out of the City of Trenton for $200.00. Ptlm. Paccillo placed Tiera Mason under arrest and transported her to police headquarters
where she was processed. She was later released pending court after posting $200.00 bail.

Route 206
While on patrol, Cpl. JoAnne Malta conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle that cut through the a gas station on Route 206 to avoid a line of traffic at the traffic light. A check of the driver's license revealed an active $332.00 warrant from Trenton, NJ for the driver, Madeleine Budd. She was placed under arrest by Cpl. Malta and transported to police headquarters where she was processed. She was later released after posting $332.00 bail.

Motor Vehicle Accident

Motor vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Rt. 206 and Ewing Street. Driver #1 was attempting to turn left onto Rt. 206 and was struck
by Vehicle #2 travelling north on Rt. 206. The impact spun Vehicle #1 around and into Vehicle #3 stopped on Ewing St. Driver #1 suffered
undetermined severity of head& side injury and was extricated from her vehicle by Princeton First Aid Squad. Driver# 1 was transported to the
University Medical Center at Princeton. Princeton Fire Department also responded to the scene. Roadway was partially closed for 1 hour with
north bound traffic detoured north on Mt. Lucas Road. The accident is under investigation by Sgt. Robert Toole.
