The Pennington Players perform magic on roller skates with their upcoming performance of the hilarious musical fantasy “Xanadu” at Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre. Dates and show times for this spirited take on 1980s popular culture are: Fridays, March 9 and March 16 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, March 10 and March 17 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, March 11 and March 18 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on Mercer's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on March 9.

A new offering, “India: Culture, Etiquette & Traditions,” is being introduced to the public by the YWCA Princeton and promises to be a fun, tasty, and educational experience.

Participants will explore the colorful culture of India with a different aspect of India highlighted each week.

The program will be held Friday evenings, starting March 9th continuing through March 30th, from 7:00-8:30 pm. The cost to participate in all four captivating evenings is $65 for YWCA members and $ 75 for non-members.

Join the Naturalists at the Watershed Reserve in Pennington for a day of geocaching fun! This 'scavenger hunt in the wild' will explore the world of trees and is appropriate for beginners and experienced cachers. Participants must supply their own GPS unit. Registration requested, $5 per person. Appropriate for adults and families.

Humongous dinosaur puppets and their human friends take center stage when DinoRock Productions presents “Dinosaur Babies” on Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The theater is located on the college’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Mercer County high school students are invited to enter a talent competition hosted by the Delta Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, in affiliation with the Youth College program of Mercer County Community College. The Annual Talent Hunt Competition is open to ninth through twelfth graders, and the deadline to enter is Sunday, February 19. The competition will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 12 p.m. in Kerney Hall at Mercer County Community College’s James Kerney Campus, 102 N. Broad Street, Trenton. The event is free and open to the public.

West Windsor, NJ: Mercer County Community College's Holocaust-Genocide Resource Center will host a talk on Romeo Dallaire's book "Shake Hands with the Devil," led by Rwandan genocide survivor, Eugenie Mukeshimana on Wed., Feb. 29, 4:30 p.m.

Mukeshimana is the founder of the Genocide Survivors Support Network, whose mission is to help genocide survivors rebuild their lives, and to educate communities about the crime of genocide. She emigrated to the USA in 2001 with her daughter and is a graduate of the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York.

Wheelchair rugby and basketball teams will take center court during the February 25, 2012, “Walk n’ Roll with Enable” at Rider University’s Student Recreation Center. This indoor walk will feature athletes with disabilities demonstrating their skills and challenging spectators in a fun competition to raise support for programs helping persons with disabilities live full and independent lives. Persons of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate in this fun-filled day of movement, entertainment and motivational speakers.

 “Children at Risk: trafficking and enslavement of children today” will be the topic for a lecture-conversation led by Dr. Francesca Nuzzolese on Sunday, February 19, at 4 p.m. at Princeton United Methodist Church (PUMC), located at Nassau & Vandeventer. A professor at Palmer Theological Seminary, Dr. Nuzzolese has been a missionary and pastoral counselor in the United States, Europe, and Australia, and she has just returned from investigating child enslavement in south Asia.

West Windsor, NJ: New Jersey contractors are invited to register for the EPA Model Renovator Certification training. Mercer County Community College is offering the Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RPP) Program and NJ DCA Rules and Regulations at a one-day class on March 13 at the college’s West Windsor campus, at 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Course content includes NJ DCA rules and regulations, lead based paint health concerns, planning the job, lead dust containment, cleaning, training, non-certified renovation workers, hands-on training, and recordkeeping.

Princeton native, Lonni Sue Johnson, whose work appeared in The New Yorker and The New York Times, contracted encephalitis in 2007 and suffered severe amnesia as well as a complete loss of artistic productivity. This fascinating show explores the artistic evolution of her work from her pre-professional career through her astounding "recovery art."
