Jennifer Tao has never taken an art class at Princeton High School. You wouldn’t know that, however, by looking at her involvement in the arts at PHS. Numina Gallery, PHS’s student-run art gallery, currently features Tao’s work in the annual Senior Show.

Maurer Productions Onstage will take audiences back to a time when beautiful music, colorful costumes and screwball comedy were the height of entertainment with the “The Drowsy Chaperone” at Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre. Dates and times for this Tony Award-winning show are: Fridays, June 8 and 15 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 9 and 16 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 10 and 17 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on MCCC's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on June 8.

The Princeton United Methodist Church Youth Choirs and Band will present an abbreviated version of the musical “Children of Eden,” by Stephen Schwartz from the book by John Caird, on Sunday, May 13 during the 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship services. This musical is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Located at Nassau and Vandeventer, the church is handicapped accessible and a nursery is available.

This community-wide celebration of school gardens, healthy living and sustainability is now in its second year – last year attracted several hundred visitors and this year we expect even more will attend to enjoy live music, local food, gardening and nutrition demonstrations, sports clinics, and arts and crafts in our beautiful school gardens.

Kinnara® Ensemble, the noted chamber choir, will present “…and gone the next,” a choral reflection on change and loss.

This one hour concert will explore the ways choral music has served as a medium for expression of reaction to calamities such as sudden and unexpected loss. We venerate the victims of such events through the performance of pieces written to honor them.” Repertoire will include works by Mäntyjärvi, Byrd and MacMillan.

The Princeton based choir consists of 24 professional artists and is under the direction of JD Burnett

West Windsor, NJ: Rutgers University Art Professor Judith Brodsky will discuss the contemporary art world at Mercer County Community College on Tuesday, April 17, at noon in the Communications Building, Room 110. The talk, entitled, “My Life in Art,” is the fourth in the college's Spring 2012 Distinguished Lecture Series, and will be held at the college’s West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Professor Brodsky is an artist, printmaker and arts advocate. In her talk, she will draw from her own experience as an artist as well as from her projects as a curator and activist.
