Take a closer look inside ChapinSchool. Visitors will attend a short program, hear from the Headmaster and Heads of Lower and Upper School, watch a video presentation, and take a student led tour of the school.

There is also a casual time of refreshment, giving you time to ask questions and speak with the Director of Admission, Headmaster and Division Heads. This is a great opportunity to explore the fit between Chapin and your goals for your child’s education.

Leonard Sax, M.D. and Ph.D., author of Why Gender Matters, Boys Adrift and Girls on the Edge, will be speaking on educating girls at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart and on educating boys at the Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart.
The public is invited to hear Dr. Sax speak. Both events are free of charge.

Chapin School opens its doors to those who only have a few minutes and would like to have a quick cup of coffee and take a tour of the school. The Headmaster and Administrators will be on hand to answer questions. This is a great way to get a glimpse inside classrooms and view the facilities.

Mandarin-language school racing against the clock for September opening

For the second time in three months, South Brunswick zoning officials have postponed their decision on a site plan for the Princeton International Academy Charter School (PIACS), citing lack of documents submitted by the Mandarin language-immersion school.

 If you judge a public school by its SAT scores, Princeton High School ranked highest in the state last year.  Does that mean Princeton has the best teachers?

A Task Force report unveiled last month by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie recommends making student test performance an important criterion in teacher evaluation. While that would reflect well on Princeton teachers, it runs counter to the approach adopted by Princeton Regional Schools. Princeton Charter School, on the other hand, has expressed measured support for Christie’s reforms.

The Princeton Board of Education hosted a public forum on Tuesday night at John Witherspoon Middle School to discuss innovative ways to reduce district spending.  Due to reductions in state aid the district may face a $2 million budget shortage in the upcoming year.   The Board of Education intends to factor the community’s cost-cutting suggestions into its budget, which will be drafted within the next two weeks.
