The 6th Annual Stream Cleanup is coming! Mark your calendar for some outdoor fun in the great outdoors and helping keep our water clean! On April 14, 21 and 28-29 the Watershed will hold its popular stream clean-ups at 11 locations. All ages welcome. It’s a great way to keep trash out of our rivers & oceans. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will host a public lecture on environmentally friendly practices at Mercer County Community College’s West Windsor campus on Wednesday, April 25, at noon in the Communications Building, room 109. The talk is part of the college’s Distinguished Lecture Series.

Sir Robert Watson, chair of the intergovernmental panel on climate change (IPCC) from 1997 to 2002, will speak at the Woodrow Wilson School on Monday, April 2, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. Watson's talk, titled, "Environment and Development Challenges: The Imperative to Act," is part of the School's "Energy and Environment" thematic lecture series. Watson is visiting the Wilson School as part of its "Leadership and Governance Program," which brings prominent policy makers to Princeton for a two to three day visit so that students can meet and learn from exemplary public leaders.

What is involved in raising pasture fed poultry and eggs and beef and pork? What are the benefits to the public in both diet and sustainability? Three new paintings by acclaimed artist Mel Leipzig, professor of art and art history at Mercer County Community College, will be unveiled at a special event on Wednesday, March 14.

The college and Leipzig are co-hosting the free event at the Conference Center at Mercer from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to help raise funds for a student art gallery planned at the Trenton campus on North Broad Street. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to meet the artist.

Daniel Ellsberg, who in 1971 precipitated a national political controversy when he released the top secret "Pentagon Papers" to the media, will participate in a conversation with Bart Gellman '82, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, author in residence and visiting lecturer in public and international affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School, titled, "Secrets, Lies, and Leaks: From the Pentagon Papers to Wikileaks." The event is co-sponsored by the Wilson School and the Princeton University Committee on Public Lectures. It is part of the School's "Media and Public Policy" thematic lecture series.

Join us for a paddle on the Millstone River in central NJ, from Griggstown to Manville. Canoes/kayaks are rented onsite and fee covers watercraft, paddle, PFD as well as guide/Naturalist and lifeguard services. Space is very limited and open to adults only - no children. Registration is required. This program does not meet at the Watershed Reserve. FEE ranges from $25-$50 per person, depending on watercraft.

This workshop will cover a wide range of topics to help Boy Scouts earn the 'Bird Study' merit badge. Boys will learn to observe and identify a variety of birds.
