West Windsor, NJ: Rutgers University Art Professor Judith Brodsky will discuss the contemporary art world at Mercer County Community College on Tuesday, April 17, at noon in the Communications Building, Room 110. The talk, entitled, “My Life in Art,” is the fourth in the college's Spring 2012 Distinguished Lecture Series, and will be held at the college’s West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Professor Brodsky is an artist, printmaker and arts advocate. In her talk, she will draw from her own experience as an artist as well as from her projects as a curator and activist.

Edward Tenner, a historian of technology and culture who has been a TED speaker and visiting scholar at Rutgers and Princeton University, talks about the importance of learning handwriting and why it’s important that children not be overexposed to technology at an early age.

Actor, comedian and author Steve Martin will deliver a talk about his early career as a comedian, titled "Stand Up: My Rise and Collapse," at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, in McCosh Hall, Room 50. Free tickets are required for admission. Tickets will be available for Princeton students, faculty and staff beginning at noon Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the University Ticketing Office in the Frist Campus Center. Members of the general public may obtain tickets from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Richardson Auditorium box office in Alexander Hall.

Princeton historian Sean Wilentz will speak on "The Long and Tragical History of Post-Partisanship" at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Friend Center, Room 101. The talk is the second installment of the 2011-12 President's Lecture Series. From George Washington's presidency and the eras of the Federalist and Whig parties, to the Confederacy and the present day, Wilentz will examine the longstanding "illusion of post-partisanship" that has marked the American political scene. The lecture will be webcast.

Daniel Abraham Visiting Professor in Middle East Policy Studies, will provide a firsthand account of Egypt's ongoing unrest based on a recent trip to the region at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall.

"Kids for Kids - through Music" holds its Third Annual benefit performance for victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami.  Musicians range in age from 6-13 years, accompanied by Princeton University students.  The performance will be held at Forbes College on the campus of Princeton University, and is open to the public.

A transformer exploded in front of the Nassau Inn this morning, prompting the temporary evacuation of some guests.  Nassau Inn operations are back to normal as of 11:20 am, but Palmer Square East Street is blocked by repair trucks.
