Presented by the Arts Council of Princeton and the students of Princeton University, the event originated as “The Art People’s Party” on the lawn of Nassau Hall in 1970. Later renamed Communiversity to capture the Town-Gown spirit of the event, the popular arts festival has grown to attract more than 40,000 visitors to Princeton, NJ each spring.

From 3:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, January 8, there will be an Interfaith Vigil on the first anniversary of the mass shooting in Tucson in Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street, Princeton (across from Palmer Square). Those attending should enter the small door to the right of the large doors at the main entrance, then go down the hallway to Niles Chapel on the right.

The Princeton-based Coalition for Peace Action (CFPA) will hold its annual Holiday Peace Gathering on Monday, December 12 in Princeton. It begins with a Candlelight Peace Vigil with the theme Swords into Ploughshares from 5:00-6:00 PM on Palmer Square in Princeton. Candles and posters will be supplied.

Bring your friend, lawn chairs, and blankets to Palmer Square on Friday, July 15th, at 7:00 pm, for a free hour-long performance of dance sponsored by the YWCA Princeton. The performances will be held on the outdoor lawn at Palmer Square Park and celebrate the multitude of arts available to the Princeton community.

40,000 visitors flock to Princeton's premiere town-gown event

The crisp wind, bright sun, and blue sky on April 30 could not have been better weather for roughly 40,000 visitors who flocked downtown Princeton for the 41st annual Communiversity Festival of the Arts. With food vendors, local businesses, and Princeton University student groups lining every block from Nassau Street to Palmer Square, Communiversity brought together families, students, and anyone with an appreciation for arts in the community.
