Maurer Productions Onstage will take audiences back to a time when beautiful music, colorful costumes and screwball comedy were the height of entertainment with the “The Drowsy Chaperone” at Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre. Dates and times for this Tony Award-winning show are: Fridays, June 8 and 15 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 9 and 16 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 10 and 17 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on MCCC's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on June 8.

The YWCA Princeton has announced a memorial celebration for Patti Preston, its long loved Nursery School director/teacher who passed away earlier this year. "Miss Patti" was the school's Director of Early Childhood Education and taught hundreds of local children during her 23 years at the YWCA Princeton. Current and past students, their families, colleagues, and acquaintances are invited to celebrate Patti's life and contributions in a fun-filled celebration.

Westminster Conservatory Noontime Recital Series Closes Season with Trio Brillante on Thursday, May 17

    The 10th season of the noontime series Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will close with a performance by Trio Brillante on Thursday, May 17 at 12:15 p.m. in Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street in Princeton.  Trio Brillante is composed of Westminster Conservatory faculty members Katherine McClure, flute; Melissa Bohl, oboe; and Esma Pasic-Filipovic, piano.  Admission is free.

Central New Jersey theater ensemble CWW On Stage presents “Learning,” an intergenerational performance of monologues and skits focusing on the various ways in which people of all ages learn something new, Sunday, May 20 at Princeton Public Library. The performance will be in the library’s Community Room at 3 p.m.
 
“Learning” looks at new learning in every decade from teen to senior years. Stories from community members of all ages were collected for the project, and the script was created from these stories.

This community-wide celebration of school gardens, healthy living and sustainability is now in its second year – last year attracted several hundred visitors and this year we expect even more will attend to enjoy live music, local food, gardening and nutrition demonstrations, sports clinics, and arts and crafts in our beautiful school gardens.

Kinnara® Ensemble, the noted chamber choir, will present “…and gone the next,” a choral reflection on change and loss.

This one hour concert will explore the ways choral music has served as a medium for expression of reaction to calamities such as sudden and unexpected loss. We venerate the victims of such events through the performance of pieces written to honor them.” Repertoire will include works by Mäntyjärvi, Byrd and MacMillan.

The Princeton based choir consists of 24 professional artists and is under the direction of JD Burnett

The Honorable Mikheil Saakashvili, President of Georgia, will deliver a public lecture at the Woodrow Wilson School on May 17, 2012, at 4:30 p.m., in Dodds Auditorium. The talk, titled "Georgian Democratic Transformation: A Test Case for the Post-Soviet World," is being cosponsored by the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination (LISD) and the Wilson School. The address is free and open to the public, but tickets are required for entry. A public reception will follow the discussion in Shultz dining room and will include a musical performance by members of the Princeton Georgian Choir.

With the first round of the French presidential elections being held on April 22, the field of ten candidates has been whittled down to two, incumbent President Nicolas Sarkozy and Socialist Party candidate Francois Hollande, who will face each other in a runoff election on May 6. In advance of the May 6 election, a panel discussion will be held at the Woodrow Wilson School on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at 4:30 p.m., in Bowl 016, Robertson Hall.
