Results of ongoing negotiations are published

Weeks of negotiations between Princeton University, Borough, and Township over the controversial Arts, Entertainment and Transit Neighborhood have resulted in a Memorandum of Understanding, just published by the Borough.  While there seems to be no change in the University's resolve to move the Dinky station, the MOU does include certain measures to appease critics of its development plans.

Rezoning Ordinance is formally introduced for public discussion

Princeton Borough residents are one step closer to walking down a rejuvenated Alexander Road in twenty years, after the Borough Council agreed to formally introduce for public discussion the zoning for the Arts, Education and Transit Neighborhood at a meeting on Tuesday night.

Boro Council to Consider Rezoning for Arts and Transit

Borough Administrator Bob Bruschi is preparing to present a modified Arts and Transit Zoning Ordinance at tomorrow evening's Borough Council meeting.  In a letter to the Mayor and Council, Bruschi says he will "strongly urge the Council to introduce this ordinance or a version that is substantially similar to it.  While it might not be the final document I think it is important to formally start the process."

Arts and Transit negotiations get a public hearing

Princeton’s Borough Council and Township Committee plan to introduce the new zoning ordinance for Princeton University’s Arts and Transit project on May 3, with a final decision possible sometime in June. This was decided at a joint Borough-Township meeting last evening, although no formal action was taken. The meeting also sought to clarify questions from concerned residents and debate the process by which zoning ordinances and negotiation committees would be presented and approved.
