Richard Woodbridge, former Township mayor and former Borough Councilman, is running for mayor of consolidated Princeton.  He says that what the municipality needs most during this period of transition is “experience, experience, experience.”

Woodbridge has the unique background of having served on the elected governments of both Princeton Township and Princeton Borough.  He also grew up in Princeton, went through the public school system, and graduated from Princeton University.

Two new police officers were sworn in at the Township Committee meeting on Monday.

Craig Humble, from Columbus NJ, graduated from King's College with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology, and graduated from the Burlington County Police Academy.   Craig just married this past fall and lives in Springfield.

Chris Boller graduated from the Trenton Police Academy in 2005 with academic honors, and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas Edison.  He lives in Raritan Township.

The YWCA Princeton will host a free Child Safety ID Day on Saturday, September 10th, 2011, from 9:30 to 2:30 pm in the main building. The event is open to the public and sponsored by New York Life Insurance Company of Edison, NJ. Members and non-members are invited to attend.

New York Life Insurance of Edison and the YWCA will provide free child identification kits that include all the tools parents and legal guardians need to preserve a complete record of their child. The kit includes a photo of the child, fingerprints, and a physical description of the child.

Disagreement over the benefits of a consolidated police force

Princeton residents may save $2.1 million annually from the consolidation of the Township and Borough Police Departments, which represents the largest portion of potential savings from consolidation.

4/9/2011: Kimyada Smith of Robinson St. Philadelphia, NJ (Female/25yoa) was stopped by patrols after she attempted to cash a fraudulently made check at Chase bank on 16 Nassau St.. She was arrested and charged with Forgery, Criminal Simulation, Attempted Theft.

4/7/2011: Kimberly Greenfield of Hedgerow Ct. in Lawrenceville, NJ;(23yoa/female) was stopped for making an illegal u-turn on Nassau St. and subsequently charged with DWI.
